Run Run Run As Fast As You Can...

One evening towards the end of February (2008) I was sitting on the couch watching television when one of my best friends and my roommate, Tina DiCroce, came home from work and announced she was going to participate in The Broad Street Run (10 miles) in May. I was a little surprised by her announcement, she hated running. However I was happy for her and impressed by her drive. Then I did something that really surprised me, I told her I'd run it with her! I ran track in high school, I wasn't the fastest or the slowest, but I had enjoyed it and I figured it wouldn't be too hard to get back in shape.

Getting back into running shape was hard, but it was also great! My body was so obviously happy to be moving whether it was on a treadmill or outside in the fresh air. I also realized how much I missed being active.

Long story short, Tina and I ran The 2008 Broad Street Run together in May and completed it around 01:50:00 about an 11 min/mile. Today Tina and I have become running fiends! In 2010 I ran my fastest Half Marathon (13.1 miles) in 02:04:31, I hope to beat 2 hours in my next run. Tina completed her first Marathon (26.2 miles) in 04:11:53, she ran a 9.6 min/mile!

Running has truely changed my life. It has strengthened friendships, forged new ones, taught me anything is possible if I put my mind to it, and my jeans are fitting a lot better!

Below are a few recent pictures of my friends, family, and our runs!

Red Cube Pictures

Back in September of 2009 I was approached by Anna Ramey about a potential freelance project. Anna lives in sunny Los Angeles, CA and had been working as a PA in the movie biz for a few years. In 2009 she began producing her own movies and therefore needed to form a production company, Red Cube Pictures. Once a name for the company was chosen the next logical step was to create an identity. The name Red Cube Pictures had a special meaning for Anna. The name was inspired by a film that she and her boyfriend made at The College of Santa Fe. It was a satiric existential piece about the perfection of both the color red and the shape of a cube.

I worked with Anna and her team at Red Cube Pictures to create a logo which reflected the playfulness of their company and the quirkiness which truly sets them apart. Their films are not your average Hollywood Blockbusters, which is very refreshing in this world of recycled ideas.
